Golf Club Courmayeur et Grandes Jorasses
The Golf Club “Courmayeur et Grandes Jorasses” has a small Club House with locker rooms, restaurant, putting green and practicing field, 9 holes, six par 4, two par three and one par 5.
It was built based on Henry Cotton’s designs and is located in the beautiful Val Ferret at the foot of the Monte Bianco massif, dominated by the rough gorges of the Grandes Jorasses.
The course winds along the river and crosses it twice, at the second and eighth holes. It is almost entirely flat and is located in an environment of rare beauty: the rough walls of the massif hang high overhead directly from the foot of the valley, the river, even a few hours after rare storms, is always crystal clear and blue, falling from the glaciers. The fairways are filled with flowers, from gentian to soldanella. At dusk the beautiful red colors reflect off the walls of the massif and on the background of the Miage glacier that encloses the view towards the west. The groundhogs crowd the surrounding areas and sometimes you can see them looking at the course, almost as if interested in the golf balls.
From different points of views this golf course is unusual, it is the only 9 hole course recognized by the F.I.G. (Italian Golf Federation) with short seasons, limited only during the summer months.
In August the club holds important national tournaments.
The small Club House has locker rooms and access to the course is strictly pedestrian; there are no professional caddies, but, with a request made in advance, we will provide you with staff to carry your bags.
9 holes double starting point par 68, course length 2690 meters.
Equipment: driving range, bar, restaurant, cart rental, locker rooms
